- Parasites? In my Neighbourhood? Whaaaaaaaat!?! -
I've heard a lot about Japanese people living with their parents until and past their late 30s and 40s, in fact, I even know Japanese people in their 30's who are still living with their parents.
When I was 16, my father was already teaching me the basics of living on my own, as in western culture, moving out when you're between 18-21 years old is expected of most young people.
Is being a "parasite single" in Japan considered acceptable? Why does this kind of culture exist in Japan? Is it a good thing or a bad thing?
What are possible negative or positive outcomes from this kind of lifestyle?
Let's talk about that.

- Nazis in my temple -
So recently in the news there has been talk of changing the symbol on foreign maps of Japan to change the buddhist symbol on the locations of temples to a different symbol, as the buddhist symbol could be misinterpreted as a swastika/nazi symbol.
Now this in itself isn't a big thing, but it is being done mainly for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Do you think it's the right thing to do to change the symbol for foreign people rather than teach them the true meaning of the symbol especially as the symbol is actually different to a swastika?
Or is it just better to avoid any possible conflict by people misinterpreting the symbol?
Should Japanese culture be changed or adapted just because a lot of tourists are going to come here and may not understand it all?
Do you think it's a good idea to pander to ignorant people in this way?
Let's talk about that.
